Another important goal of fecal sludge treatment in STBVs is through the production of derived products such as compost. The compost obtained is of excellent quality. Indeed, according to the report produced by the Senegalese Institute of Agricultural Research (ISRA), this compost can substitute validly for the chemical fertilizer for vegetables such as tomato (fruits and vegetables on branch), ognon (vegetables and subsoil roots) and cabbage (leaf vegetable). This same compost is used by Delvic in its parallel market gardening and ornamental production activities.
